As someone who was terrified of presentations, I dreaded having two classes on presentations: one in college and the other in university. But both helped me immensely. Both of my programs had a heavy focus on writing, so I took advantage of everything I knew about transitions, hooks, cues, bolding/highlighting to emphasize certain words, etc. Maybe it’s an introvert trait but I found that writing down in great detail what I was going to say and rehearsing it eased a lot of my nerves. It made me feel prepared and injected some enthusiasm into my presentations. I can still get a little nervous when it comes to presentations but it’s a work-in-progress.
