I really like this piece. Over the years, I've discovered that passion can be a very fickle thing, so I think it's important to find a meaningful purpose that drives you. It seems a person's purpose is always tied to some kind of pain or struggle or need to change something.

The writing process can be very discouraging but like you, I always find myself returning to it. "Follow your blisters" is a great way to reframe the somewhat misleading "follow your passion" advice.
