This is so true. As helpful as Duolingo is, especially for beginners, my comprehension and confidence with French has improved just by reading. Reading really helps me recognize sentence structures and verb tenses, which reiterates what I remember from classes.

The background material you shared is also really interesting; I’ll have to check that book out!
