While 9-5 jobs can be difficult, stressful and sometimes underpaid (not always as some of those 9-5 jobs actually pay really well, especially as you advance in your career), they can also be fulfilling, rewarding and interesting if you find a field and job you’re passionate about. If people want to be an influencer, I say go for it, live your life but to also know that they might not always have long-term stability as an influencer and they won’t get the benefits they would with an employer-sponsored plan (dental and other health benefits, pension plan, etc.), so people should plan for that. I’d also caution people to find some sort of deeper purpose to their work because if it’s not meaningful to them, that might also trigger anxiety and a deep existential crisis or depression. Studies also show that influencers can get depressed too.
